This musical is based on Charles Dickens’ incomplete novel. It takes place among the actor ensemble at the Royal Music Hall in London in 1873, where John Jasper runs the choir. Early on, his nephew Edwin Drood arrives to be with his beautiful fiancée Miss Rosa Bud, a student of Mr Jasper, who unfortunately is a victim of his passionate obsession. Furthermore, John Jasper lives a double life rather similar to Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, and frequents an opium club in London. Then mysteriously, Drood suddenly disappears after a Christmas dinner and still after six months there is no sign of him. This is how Dickens ended his story, not giving any clues as to what happened to Drood and so the audience decides the ending by vote.
