LETTERS FROM TENNESSEE
This is a dramatisation of early Tennessee Williams letters with correspondence from his young years in St. Louis – to the successful Broadway-premiere of THE GLASS MENAGERIE – more than 20 years later. In a touching and often humoristic manner this fine monodrama mixes elements from Williams’ dramatic life – his painful relationship with his family, the random lovers and the impressions from the distant travelling creating the basis for many of his later dramatic masterpieces. Williams appear just as poetic and passionate in his letters as in his plays. A great success at The Goodman Theatre in Chicago 2003.
