This French play, which is partly based on real events, takes place in the German headquarters of the Hôtel Meurice in Paris during the end of the WWII. The allies surrounds Paris and General Dietrich von Choltitz (the German military governor of Paris) has just received Hitler’s orders to destroy the entire city. Choltitz begins work on the plan and on 25 August 1944 at daybreak, he receives a secret visit from Raoul Nordling, the Swedish General Consul in Paris. Nordling’s only goal is to convince Choltitz not to destroy Paris as Hitler has asked him to do. A dramadocumentary with very good parts.
