2 F / 2 M This is a new comedy about two marriages that rather dramatically end up mirroring each other. We follow Karen and Gabe, a married couple, who in their 40’ies are financially secured and share an interest in gastronomy. One evening they have prepared a lovely meal for their good old friend Beth, who joins them for supper alone as her husband Tom is seemingly away on business. During the meal she shocks her friends by revealing that Tom has left her in favour of another woman. Quite surprisingly, Tom joins them because the airport had been shut down, due to a snowstorm and gets furious when realising that Beth has told her side of the story behind his back. Naturally, Karen and Gabe are shocked, as it was them who originally brought Tom and Beth together 12 and a half years ago. However, as it turns out, they have always been slightly unhappy in their union, so now they are both experiencing a second youth, with each their new partners. Inevitably, this makes Karen and Gabe look at their own relationship that perhaps is nothing more but a comfortable routine? Margulies has created these middle-aged characters with problems that are painfully familiar and the play has acclaimed great success for a longer period of time at the Variety Arts Theatre in New York.
