A well-written chamber play, concerning the dispute between the painter P.S. Krøyer, his wife, Marie and her lover, the Swedish composer, Hugo Alvfén on Christmas Eve.
Marie is split between the security of marriage, a loving yet mentally disturbed husband and her lover who can offer her nothing but love in a cottage. Following a heavy row, she is forced to make a choice.
