Cyrano is a musketeer and a temperamental rowdy who battles and wins numerous fights that are most often caused by comments about his rather big nose. In addition though, he is also a poet and writes the most wonderful poetry.
He falls in love with the attractive Roxanne but is afraid of declaring his love for her because he finds it impossible that the most beautiful woman in Paris should fall for him, the ugly Cyrano. Meanwhile, the young and handsome Christian has also fallen for Roxanne but is unable to express himself poetically. So Cyrano agrees to write letters on his behalf, though it is obviously Cyrano’s own feelings that are communicated in the passionate correspondence. Eventually Roxanne realises the truth and is faced with a heartbreaking choice.
