Pieter, a once enthusiastic art historian now working as a civil servant, gets in trouble when the local government wants him to return the works of art that he has received as birthday presents over the years. The paintings are now worth millions. He refuses and asks his friend and politician Joep for help (he moves in as he has just left his wife). They also turn to another old friend, Tom, a former lawyer and coke addict. A fourth friend, Maarten, an avant-garde and impotent theatre director also appear. The text is a dark and comic play about male friendship that explores men’s emotions while seeking money, power and reputation.
