Despite her father’s dislike, the young Celine gets romantically involved with the German writer-to-be Emilie and becomes pregnant. World War 1 bursts out and Emile is forced to join the German army and to leave Celine and their child behind. The play is about three generations and about hatred and reconciliation, built freely on the historical event: The massacre in Dinant, where a three year old baby was to be killed like a “resister”.
