Nathan is admitted to the psychiatric department at a hospital, and he has great thoughts about life, death and love. The heavily smoking and eternally quoting Nathan meets the other patients Cordelia, Qurban, Hamid and Michael during his hospitalisation and they all have their very own special view on life and society. When it comes down to it, Nathan is perhaps more functional than the hospital staff – and he can make summer kale with cumin. This is a cheery poetic text about the mixture of great beauty and deep pain in life. The play is at the same time a rebellion against the treatment-society reducing independently thinking individuals into nameless patients.
