BEHIND THE FENCE plays out on a residential street – a place where prejudice rules from behind the hedges. The unspoken suspicion about this and that grows and eventually becomes reality. The chatter centres around the young couple moving in; it advertises the car, people prefer; it investigates the house behind the other fence, vaguely and cryptically describing the man who lives there. The concerns dim, because maybe the guy isn’t that mysterious after all. But then again...
The uncertainty creeps in and creates a fine portrait of the measures we take to take care of ourselves; of the consumer society, the paranoia society and of their victims.
