With AU BORD, the French writer Claudine Galea investigates the conditions between victim and executioner and looks at the American soldier Lynndie England, who became world famous in the torture scandal at the Abu Ghraib prison. The text investigates who Lynndie is, how she could use torture and what it means to be a woman in a war zone where the male community spirit is strong. The text has been discussed widely in the French media and won the Grand prix de Littérature dramatique in 2011.
