Lanoye builds this story about war victims on the Trojan War. Contains elements from Aeschylus’ and Euripides’ tragedies, but also speeches about the Iraqi war held by George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld are included. The abuse of absolute power is personified by Agamemnon. His war rhetoric leaves no space for the individual person – the bigger picture is what’s important: The mother country, the cultural inheritance, the system of values etc. Against him are the women, whose lives have been ruined by his war logics. A strong text with good female roles! Produced at Het Toneelhuis, Antweroen 2008.
