Irish-Indian playwright, born 1978. Ursula Rani Sarma studied at College Cork University where her first play TOUCHED was put up. Subsequently, it was received with great enthusiasm at the Edinburgh Festival. In 2001, Sarma staged her own play, BLUE at The Cork Opera House, and Josh Benathan then took it The Latchmere Theatre in London. In addition, her radio play CAR FOUR was broadcast by BBC as part of their THE WIRE series. Presently Sarma has been commissioned by The National Theatre in London, The Traverse in Edinburgh as well as The Abbey Theatre in Dublin.
