A short-story writer and playwright. S.N. Behrman is best known for his popular Broadway plays that commented on contemporary moral issues. Behrman wrote about the wealthy, intellectual sector of society, endowing his characters with eloquence and intelligence, often attempting to probe the consciences of the wealthy and privileged. His work include THE SECOND MAN (1927), RAIN FROM HEAVEN (1934), NO TIME FOR COMEDY (1939) and FANNY (1954).
