Renée Toft Simonsen (b. 1965) is a Danish author, psychologist and former fashion model. She has a master’s degree in psychology and was offered a research fellowship, but instead she decided to follow her writing career. In 2003 her first children's book Karla KABALE was published, for which she received the Book- and Paper Industry's children's book prize. The book was adapted to film with great success in 2007 and furthermore dramatized by Gunvor Reynberg and Stig Christensen in 2009 and in a new adaptation by Thomas Bendixen in 2014.
