Julius Brammer

Julius Brammer (1877-1943) war an Austrian Libretto writer. He was educated an actor and was employed by the Gärtnerplatztheater and afterwards the Theatre an der Wien, where he also performed in operas. In 1908 he started working as an composer often together with Alfred Grunwald, Leo Ascher, Edmund Eysler, Leo Fall, Emmerich Kálmán, Robert Stoltz and Oscar Straus. He was among the leading librettists and was honored by the Austrian Republic.As a jew he and his wife had to fled during 2. World War, whereafter the lived in exsile.
