Elith Reumert

Elith Poul Ponsaing Reumert (January 9, 1855 in Aalborg, Denmark - June 24, 1934 in Copenhagen) was a Danish actor and writer, married to Athalia Flammé, father of Poul Reumert. Reumert graduated and debuted 30 September 1876 as Marcel in "ARBEJDERLIV" at The Royal Theatre, whose directors , misled by his beautiful Mediterranean looks, thought he was romantic poet and gave him a passionate repertoire, and not until New Year 1882 he had his breakthrough at Folketeatret as a graciously manufacture of cheerful lunatics and complacent rebels. In a large repertoire, he, among other things, made an adaptation of NØDDEBO PRÆSTEGAARD (1888), in which he himself had created and designed Nikolaj’s role. Reumert retired in 1912, his last appearance took place 14 December 1911 as Factor Holm in HVO SOM ELSKER SIN FADER. Already during his student days Reumert wrote poems, and alongside his work at Folketeatret, he wrote a few more plays; which later performed at Dagmarteatret (1891) and The Royal Theatre.
