Christian Berg

Christian Berg, was born in 1966 in Bad Oeynhausen. From 1984 to 1987, Christian Berg visited successfully an actor’s school in Hamburg. His first own production in 1988, was "Pinocchio - The Musical ", an experience which had a major influence on his future career. In the 90s, his two productions "Jim Knopf, the musical” and "The Jungle Book " were highly successful. The music for these productions was composed by the famous songwriter Konstantin Wecker. 2001 saw the writing of Christian Berg children's musical "Petersson and Findus ", which toured in 50 German cities. In the same year, his first children's book "Tamino Penguin " was published in the prestigious Thienemann Publishing and was a success. 2004, he wrote the musical " Cinderella Party" in successful collaboration with Volker Rosin. Another high point in the career of Christian Berg was the cooperation with "M. Grand Prix“, Ralph Siegel. In 2006, he directed „Laugh! - The time of the Clowns”, a musical experience also aimed at the adult audience. Christian Berg produced with Konstantin Wecker the family musical „Little Lord ", which was premiered in December 2007 at the Deutsches Theater Munich. Followed, in 2008 " Peter Pan - Fly Your Dream" with 70 performances in the Schmidt Theater and a comprehensive tour through Germany and Switzerland. In April 2010, a new production of his musical „The Jungle Book " premiered at the Hamburg Schmidt Theater. The play was extended to 30/12/10. In June 2010, Christian Berg staged his "Peter Pan " at the Dortmund’s Opera. Christmas 2012, five self-produced Christmas shows ran at German theatres : "Snow White " in Hamburg , " The Jungle Book " in Hannover , " Jim Knopf " in Berlin , " Three Nuts for Cinderella" in Dresden and " Tamino Penguin " in Hamburg. In 2013 , Christian Berg decided Christian Doll and Christian Ludewig of the C2 Stuttgart’s company to become the producers of his future projects. After 25 years of independence, without subsidies and major sponsors, it was no longer possible to work alone. More than 80,000 spectators have enjoyed family productions from and with Christian Berg, the “king of the children's musicals” (ARD).
