A young man wishes to see and experience a world far from his own. Despite his younger sister’s begging for him to stay home, he decides to join the army in a military mission. His secondment isn’t without a great human cost. A killing defence shot at a small child used as a shield by Taliban changes him forever. How can you return to trivial first world problems when you just survived a roadside bomb as the only ‘brother’?

A strong and moving story about a young man dreaming about making a difference in the world and a bond between siblings that will endure, no matter what happens. The work was nominated for a Reumert Prize in the category Best Childrens or Youth performance 2017.
