According to the preface of the play script, Blue Motell is a place at the end of the world that attracts dreamers from all sorts of worlds and dimensions. Here fairy tale characters, deceased philosophers, serial killers and suicide victims gather in a work about escapism and the longing to belong and to give. The play operates with several dramaturgical layers and narrative threads, and is inspired by the Russian philosopher Mikhail Bakhtin’s book about the French humanist François Rabelais and the idea of the old carnival tradition.
