This story is told in fragments, and as the title hints, it is a series of repeated events dealing with a serious and inadequate man in his forties, Anthony Steadman, who works in a factory and has no friends. The play is a kind of odyssey of chance, as it navigates through a series of coincidental clues and possible scenarios. On various locations (a bar, a laundrette, etc.), he gradually upsets strangers, as the atmosphere becomes increasingly cold and violent. Premiered at Orange Tree Theatre, London 1989.
