This one act play is about Duff and Beth, who form a middle-aged, married couple both working at a country mansion; she is the housekeeper and he is the driver. We see them in the large mansion kitchen where they are seated with a good distance between them, talking a lot, though even if he says ‘you’ often, they do not have a mutual conversation. So the entwined monologues are mostly based on their individual wishful thinking; she talks of a sex life and childbirth whereas he mentions playing with children and wonderings of how to avoid rain.
