This sparkling Tony Award-winning musical is about Princeton, a lively young man who recently graduated from the university and is coming to New York with big dreams and few cash. He quickly discovers that the only district he can afford to live in is Avenue Q – even though the neighbours are nice and friendly. We encounter the unemployed actor Brian and his girlfriend, the therapist Christmas Eve; the big-hearted loafer Nicky and his roommate Rod – a republican stock jobber who seems to carry around a secret; an internet addict named Trekkie Monster; and an extremely nice nursery teacher, Kate. With his new friends, Princeton fight to find jobs, dates and the forever fleeing purpose in life. The show in Broadway is performed with puppets that are lead by the actors/singers. “Best Show of 2003”. “The musical puppet-and-people show “Avenue Q” (at the Golden) has so much to recommend it—an exceptionally gifted cast, a strong book by Jeff Whitty, with equally strong music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx…” – The New Yorker
