Den teatertossede korpige Peggy Sawyer fra provinsen får sin store chance, da forestillingens stjerne Dorothy Brock brækker anklen under de sidste prøver inden premieren på “Pretty Lady” på Broadway. 42ND STREET byder på en lang række meget flotte dansenumre med tempo og fornem koreografi.
