An intelligent adaption of Kafka’s magical and absurd nightmarish novel about the surveyor K who arrives to a village late one night, summoned to work at the castle without ever being in actual contact with the caste’s authorities who are allegedly responsible for getting him there. This is the story about a man who decides to fight against a colossal bureaucracy instead of caving in to it. Fishelson and Leichter have left out a number of the original’s many characters and focused on the central personas of the text. The result is a mesmeric dramatic piece.
