In this play, seven gentlemen and one female secretary are planning a gigantic leisure establishment on an uninhabited island; so wonderful that it is to become paradise for the human race. However, the idea is never put to fruition, as intrigues and power struggles soon occur between the seven men. Nevertheless the participants refuse to let the idea of Republik Vineta fall through and so they fight to see it come alive, which eventually leads to murder and suicide. At the end there is still the architect left, working on his sketches. Despite its tragic ending, the play is written in an incredible witty tone and is rich on situation comedy. Also, it had great success at the Thailia Theatre in Hamburg and is proclaimed to be the best play of Rinke.
