Pippilotta Viktualia Rullgardina Krusmynta Efraimsdotter Långstrup has undergone major changes since she in 1945 for the first time moved into Villekulla with the monkey, Mr. Nilsson and her spotted horse. Jonna Nordenskiöld’s version that premiered at Stockholm City Theatre at Astrid Lindgren’s 100th birthday, is a version that has immersed in the stories of Astrid Lindgren’s unruly girl. Here Pippi really challanges society’s standards, but is still loved just as high by the neighbor kids Tommy and Annika. In her loneliness at night we experience a vulnerable Pippi, who longs for her mother and father.
In this version the burglars, Dunder-Karlsson and Blom are not present, but Pippi’s other tormentors Kling and Klang and Prusselluskan are still trying to get Pippi adapted into society.
It’s Georg Riedel and Jan Johansson music that dominates the music side where Joel Sahlin also added the performance new composed music.
