In this play, we follow the middle-aged Deeley, who works in film, his wife Kate, as well as her friend Anna whom she used to flat share with and has not seen for twenty years. The action takes place in a converted country house one autumn evening when the couple awaits a visit from Anna. It is indicated that the two women once had a lesbian relationship. During the course of the evening, all three tell stories about their past that either confirms or are most contradictive. For instance, Kate tells Deeley that Anna once had the habit of stealing her underwear, whereas Anna later confesses that Kate used to talk her into wearing the delicate lingerie. Additionally, both Deeley and Anna wish to possess Kate.
So, each in turn they reconstruct a past suiting their own needs, in this enigmatic tale based on the eternal triangle where Kate is the one, who is left with the power.
