This short and most shocking one act play, takes place in a prison camp, where some women are waiting to visit their imprisoned husbands and sons. While waiting, they are subjected to bureaucratic humiliations by the powerful authority that additionally, has forbidden their language known as ‘the mountain language’. Effectively, the elderly woman present cannot communicate with her son when she is finally allowed to see him. Nor can the young woman whose husband totally collapses from beatings and torture when seeing her. And finally, when the language is once again permitted, it is of no use as its users are either mutilated or dumb.
