This is a dramatisation of Johan Borgen’s trilogy LILLELORD (1955), DE MØRKE KILDER (The Dark Sources) (1956) and VI HAR HAM NÅ (Now we’ve got him) (1957), focusing on the significance of childhood experiences and their impact later on in life. The story takes place in the time before The First World War and describes the development of a boy whose name is Lillelord. We experience his moral degeneracy, leading him to a state of cold egotism. With an equal amount of crime and purity he lives a double life. He ends up serving as a frontier guard for the Nazis. After The Second World War he is hunted because of his collaboration with the Nazis.
