Sal was once an award-winning investigative journalist and author,
uncovering government corruption and public scandals. Two years ago, her
son's death robbed her of a willingness to engage and her ability to question.
Now, as she comes to terms with her loss, her teenage daughter Beck brings
home Taki, a Japanese surfer, to stay with them. Sal is unsettled by his
reclusive behaviour and unexplained past.
When her calculating brother Jack visits with his new, younger girlfriend, Sal
is awakened to a sense of danger she has long forgotten.
