This is a hilarious and grim parody of a naturalistic family play in which a naughty son attempting to break free from his parents is held down. It is obvious that he will turn into a loyal fan of the family dish: Boiled cabbage with pork. Once he reunites with the three nosed Roberte, the rest of the family sniff around him in an almost ecstatic, cannibalistic joy. He is brought to heel. Everyday language, ideas and opinions are taken as far away from their boring everyday usage, giving a grotesque and sharp image of how meaningless it is to continue a tradition – especially when the tradition is the only motivation.
