Walser gathers three dictator wives: (Imelda Marcos (The Philippines – b. 1929), Margot Honecker (GDR – b. 1927) and Leila Ben Ali (Tunisian Republic – b. 1956) and one male simultaneous interpreter, Gottfried, on a stage one hour before a grandiose press conference for a documentary film about their lives. Before the fall of the curtain, the ladies gets a chance reflect over the glory of their past, the power and not at least each other – sometimes with such a sarcastic intensity, that Gottfried not always gets the women translated correctly. An intelligent and hilarious comedy with a sharp dialogue and fantastic parts for three actresses in their best years. The play’s title is a quotation from a Muammar Gaddafi poem.
