This is a classic American comedy from 1961 about a middle-aged eccentric woman, Opal, who scuttles around town, picking up stuff which she brings home. She meets three swindlers on the run who make her believe that she can be a partner in their operation. The motive behind it is to insure her and hereafter kill her to get all the insurance cash. We are told how they meet Opal and how they plan her death even though their escapades lead them to their own doom. Opal is a tough lady with a heart of gold and she gradually wins with her generous spirit. The play contains good roles for six actors and could be put in the same genre as the thriller comedy THE LADYKILLERS.
