‘Escape from Pterodactyl Island’ is certainly a must-see for everyone who loves ‘The Rocky Horror Show’. Victorian science-fiction novels as well as B movies from the 50’ ies, inspired this new musical that skilfully blends adventure, singing, humour and spooks.
It revolves around the hero, Professor Worthington, who embarks on a scientific expedition at sea together with his girlfriend. Unfortunately, they are shipwrecked and end up at an island that is ruled by the mad scientist, Dr Devo. Henceforth, there is no end to all the grotesque affairs happening around them.
However, this entertaining story is not completely without reference to the widespread genetic manipulation, taking place today.
A succession of wonderful songs has aided this musical in becoming a great success in England.
