The début-drama of the French-speaking Irish dramatist Samuel Beckett. The drama which evidently lacks dramatic action in the common sense renders a “meaningless” action with dissolved conceptions of time and is populated by grotesque, machine-like creatures who have no identity. “The action” is an infinite waiting for something – a vain hope which toys with anonymous people. The many facets of the play are fascinating and the scenic expressiveness is frighteningly powerful.
