CATCH AS CATCH CAN subverts all your expectations: What seems like a family comedy at first, takes a sharp turn with the introduction of a terrifying mental illness that seems to rip apart not only the person who suffers from it, but the perception of the play itself – a Trojan horse in the best way possible.
The play depicts six members of two closely intertwined working-class families in New England, portrayed by three actors who play two roles each: one character of their own age, and that same character’s parent of the opposite gender. The double-casting brilliantly emphasises what some people do or do not get from their families when they need it the most.
