3 F / 8 M / Choir Musical in 2 acts 1 Set This musical is the fruition of collaboration between two of England’s leading dramatists: Alan Ayckbourn who is praised for his dashing and often teasing comedies and Andrew Lloyd Webber who is certainly a supreme musical composer. Their explicit literary taste is confirmed by the choice of author and novel on which to base their own work. They have chosen the English humorist P. G. Woodhouse and his books about the rather dippy Bertie Wooster, who is constantly rescued by his bright servant Jeeves. And so the result is a cheerful show where the book’s spirit is well kept and we follow the daft Bertie with his circle of friends and the constant troubles he is in. Repeatedly and fortunately Jeeves manages to disentangle his hopeless master in a most elegant and clever fashion. It is a modern musical despite it taking place during the inter-war period in England. Orchestration: Piano Bass Clarinet Saxophone-Flute Guitar Drums Synthesizer
