The storyline of this delightful, melancholic and cheerful story is based on Henri Murger’s novel ¨Scènes de la vie de Bohème” (1846). It takes place in the present Paris. In a picturesque, but dilapidated flat, three artists reside under poor conditions: Rudolfo is an Albanian refuge and painter; Marvel is a French poet and Schaunard is a misunderstood Irish composer. Together, they attempt to make the best out of it. The story mostly sticks to gallows humour, although melancholic moments are unavoidable when the lives of the bohemians are illustrated by Finland’s most sombre humorist.
