ANGEL is inspired by the story of a modern legend: a female sniper – the Angel of Kobane – who held ISIS in check for over a year in war-torn Syria, killing more than 100 extremists:
A young female law student, Rehana, dreams of becoming a lawyer like William Shatner and, in return for singing the Kurdish liberation song, forces her father to sing “All the single ladies”. But when the town of Kobanî is besieged she not only discovers a new love for her native soil, she also discovers a new talent, which soon makes her feared by ISIS, as its adherents believe that if they are killed by a woman they cannot enter Paradise.
