The nurse Manuela goes to Barcelona to find the father of her deceased son. Accidentally, she comes across a series of different women (some of them transvestites) who all struggle with tough odds. This is a black story, based on the Spaniard Pedro Almodóvar’s successful film that won an Oscar in 1999. Almodóvar is famous for his smart and provocative portrayals of Spanish temperaments, religion and sexuality. Premiered at The Old Vic in London, 2007 and will be produced at The Stockholms Stadsteater and The Folketeatret in Copenhagen.
