Boyan Papazov was born in Sophia in 1943. From 1965 until 1971 he attended the Moscow Film Academy. He followed the scriptwriting and direction courses and subsequently he has made several films as well as documentaries. Papazov is politically active in the UDF and was a member of the Bulgarian Parliament during 1990/1991. From 1993 until 1996 he was cultural attaché at the Bulgarian Embassy in the United States. Since the seventies Papazov has made his mark as one of the most important playwrights in Bulgaria and his plays are being performed on several stages in the Balkan region.
