Arthur Whitelaw began his career in show business fifty years ago. His first producing venture in the New York Theatre was the hit revival of BEST FOOT FORWARD which introduced Liza Minnelli and Christopher Walken to the stage. Whitelaw co-wrote the books for and directed SNOOPY and THE TAFFETAS. In film Mr. Whitelaw was vice president of Apjac International at Twentieth Century Fox. Apjac produced the musical screen versions of TOM SAWYER and HUCKLEBERRY FINN, starring Jodi Foster in two of her first films and BUTTERFLIES ARE FREE starring Goldie Hawn and Eileen Heckart. As head of Drama for HBO he originated a theatre series, that included the television versions of CAMELOT, starring Richard Harris, BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, PLAZA SUITE, SHERLOCK HOLMES, VANITIES, THE RAINMAKER, WAIT UNTIL DARK, among others. His productions have been nominated or won every industry award including the Oscar, Tony, Emmy, Ace, The Edgar, Obie, Drama Desk, Olivier, S.W.E.T., etc. Mr. Whitelaw has produced ten plays in London's West End.
