Monologue

Danish text

A monologue version of the Romanian author Aglaja Veteranyi’s novel about a young girl who flees with her circus family from Nicolae Ceausescu’s communist dictatorship in Romania in the 1970s. It is a tragicomic account of how to survive as a political refugee and at the same time an inner story about a dysfunctional family in a nomadic circus life where stepdaughter, sister, aunt, stepfather and a mother put their lives on the line every night.
