An effective stage adaptation based on Stanislaw Lem’s 1961 science fiction novel. Solaris is a planet, which is covered by a mysterious ocean that is capable of analysing human subconsciousness and make dreams manifest themselves physically. When psychiatrist Dr. Kris Kelvin (a female character in David Greig’s stage version) arrives at the space station that orbits the planet, a copy of an ex-lover – a product of Solaris – approaches her creating an existential crisis between love and science, between fantasy and reality.
