Drama
Norwegian text
During Stalin’s Moscow trials in the 1930s, the accused Lev Trotsky and his wife lived in asylum in Norway. The action takes place on the day when Trotsky is to give his “defense speech”. The text derives its power from this backdrop but is also a general story about a married couple who have lived a life at great cost, as well as a portrait of Lev Trotsky that perhaps provides some keys to an understanding of why he lost the fight against Stalin.
