Icelandic text – English translation by Brian FitzGibbon
A tense and hilarious new play by one of Iceland’s leading playwrights. A big party is held to celebrate the mother’s return from a stay at a sanatorium abroad. The father holds – as far as he knows – all the family threads in his hand and the daughter and son navigate a fine line they are supposed to follow. But something is not as it should be. The situation is flammable. A terrible event, that stretches far back, casts a shadow over the family. When the neighbor couple Elsa and Ellert knock on the door with all their problems, the fun begins, and a long night lies ahead.
