Drama

English text

Clifford reimagines the medieval morality play “Everyman” and investigates the meaning of death and grief. The plot centers around a woman, Mary, her husband, children and mother and the devastation that follows when Mary suddenly dies of a stroke and how the family tries to come to terms with the loss. The play came from the death of Jo Clifford’s wife and a subsequent bypass operation where Clifford became aware of the powerlessness surrounding death.
