Originally performed as a monologue with an actress, but can be staged with 1 male performer as well as two or more actors who personifies for example Dante, the Roman poet Virgil who guides him through Hell and Purgatory, and of Beatrice, Dante’s ideal woman, who guides him through Heaven.
